About Us

HI YA! I’m Meri – birthname Meridith, but I go by Meri! I’ve always said, when I’m a successful, I’ll go by Meridith, obvi, I’m still waiting for that day. I had a job once, and I was forced to go by Meridith, let’s just say, it didn’t help me stay at the job. I’m a 30-year-old kid, trying to figure out how to adult. I’m the youngest of the sister duo. I have a wonderful boyfriend, who I’ve been dating for over 4 years and I’m a proud dog aunt to Weezer, a crazy Blue Heeler/Australian Shepard, who loves chasing me around the yard with dead animals in his mouth.

C-O-F-F-E-E

Most important thing to know about me – I. LOVE. COFFEE. Back in elementary school, we sang a song in choir with hand actions of course, “C-O-F-F-E-E, coffee is not for me. It’s a drink some people wake up with. That it makes them nervous is a myth. Slave to a coffee cup. They can’t give coffee up…” (While typing this, I definitely sang it in my head) This song set me up for failure, because now I’m definitely a slave to that savory bean water!

Nothing says adulting like hanging out with Buddy the Elf.

One of my goals in life is to realize how to adult. The daunting 3-0 didn’t whip me into shape. After turning 25 years old, I don’t feel like I’ve gotten older  (besides having one drink and then getting a hangover or needing to go to bed at 9:30 p.m).

When you have your life together, you’re definitely surrounded by beachballs, right?

What does “Grit Up and Glow” mean to me? This is an opportunity to get it together. Whether it’s figuring out how to actually make a doctor’s appointment  or how to save money.   This is taking on the world one adult task at a time! I want to channel my inner Hugh Jackman and “From Now On” take on the world. The affect of this is creating the GLOW.

That’s me (Tammy).

Howdy! Tammy here. The other, older (probably wiser), part of the duo. Writing bios has never been my strong suit (insert sound of old-timey trombone aka wah-wah-wah).

Sometimes we go to concerts.

I’m just a thirty something single gal trying to figure it all out.  I enjoy trying a new recipe, workout, or book.

By day I am a coffee fiend and aspiring professor. By night I am an all around badass….just so you know.

…..I officially feel like I’m a filling out a dating profile, awkward selfies and all. Awesome. For the record, I don’t like getting caught in the rain or drinking pina coladas….

I think blogs and social media in general have an amazing way of connecting people. My greatest hope for this little blog is to connect with ladies facing the same trials and tribulations so we can all find inspiration in each other. Sometimes this world can feel so lonely, but isn’t it refreshing when we find our crew, the people who get it?

I’m incredibly excited to go on this journey, and I’m so glad you all have decided to come along for the ride.

Sometimes we do crazy things like….10 milers and half marathons….
